London, UK – A mother with three children, has been fighting for justice after the unlawful removal of her two daughters by the Children’s Services of Richmond Council on March 24, 2023. British Black Mother from: Richmond Park, UK. Has lodged a number of formal complaints with the Metropolitan Police, providing all necessary evidence under references CDS-102897-23-0100-002 and PC/94/24, calling for the prosecution of those involved, including the organisation “Achieving for Children” and Richmond Council’s Children’s Services. However, the Metropolitan Police has yet to take meaningful steps toward justice.
The IOPC, the police complaints watchdog, which is supposed to ensure accountability and uphold standards in police conduct, has also failed Mother of three Children. Despite acknowledging the severity of the case, the IOPC has delayed allocating the matter to a casework manager and has stated that their role is limited to reviewing the Metropolitan Police’s handling of the complaint rather than investigating the substantive issues.
Mother’s struggle highlights significant flaws in the system designed to protect children and hold authorities accountable. “The inaction by both the Metropolitan Police and the IOPC is deeply concerning,” said Mother of three children. “Her daughters have been unlawfully taken from me, and despite my best efforts, those responsible are not being held to account.”
In a formal pre-action protocol letter, Ms. Campbell has demanded immediate action from the IOPC and the Metropolitan Police, including a thorough investigation into the misconduct and financial compensation for the distress caused. Should these demands not be met within 14 days, Richmond Park resident Mother of three intends to initiate judicial review and Law suite, proceedings against both institutions.
This case raises critical questions about the effectiveness of oversight bodies and the protection of children’s rights in the UK. It underscores the need for urgent reform to ensure that no other family has to endure such a traumatic experience.
Social Justice Campaigners express his grave concerns about the systemic issues surrounding Special Educational Needs (SEN) children being placed into interim care. It appears that Children’s Services are exploiting these situations, driven by a profit motive rather than prioritising the needs and educational success of these vulnerable children. This exploitation is exacerbated by local authorities’ shortcomings in delivering quality education and has resulted in a broken care system where children are left in limbo and neglected.

The root of this issue seems to lie in the creation of the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) under David Cameron’s administration, which has shifted the focus from genuine educational needs to a commodity-driven approach. This shift, which has persisted through both Conservative and Labour governments, prioritises cost-cutting and profit over the necessary investment in human rights and social justice for these children.

We as Social Justice Campaigners are keen to understand if there are any new developments or initiatives addressing these concerns in relation to SEN. Your insights would be invaluable, case studies and personal stories like mother with her three children in highlighting these critical issues.
