Biography
Zing Tsjeng – Leading Voice in Feminism, Culture, and Social Change
Zing Tsjeng is a London-based author, journalist and presenter with over a decade of experience in the media business. She specialises in arts, culture, identity and current affairs.
Zing was Editor-in-Chief at VICE, where she managed both the US and UK teams, and has written for Vogue, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, Vulture and many more. She has profiled, among others, Andrew Scott, Ncuti Gwata, Zadie Smith, and Keir Starmer.
Forgotten Women, her book series exploring the untold stories of inspiring women who have been marginalised from history, was first published in four volumes and then as an anthology on Brazen in 2022.
Zing has presented several award-winning podcasts, including United Zingdom which The Guardian named as one of the best podcasts of 2020; the inaugural series of the Women’s Prize for Fiction podcast; and Good Bad Billionaire, which topped the audio charts in 2024. For Yamaha, Zing hosted Benefits of Music, a podcast series on the ins and outs of making and listening to music. Her YouTube shows for VICE News, including Empires of Dirt and The Business of Crime, have been watched almost 30 million times.
Zing was highly commended in the British Journalism Awards 2020 as a “one-woman multimedia practitioner” who “‘epitomises the strengths of modern journalism.” She has been named one of London’s most influential people by the Evening Standard and an LGBTQ trailblazer by Attitude Magazine; and her work on the Unfiltered History Tour, a guerilla tour of the British Museum’s stolen artefacts, won 12 Cannes Lions, including three Grands Prix.
Zing hosts live Q&As, moderates panels and gives keynote talks around the world for the likes of SXSW, Web Summit, Netflix, Victoria’s Secret, Sky, Miu Miu, and at the University of Oxford, where in 2022 she was appointed Visiting Professor of Creative Media.
