Biography
Meet Serena Guthrie
Serena Guthrie is an ex-professional netballer who acquired 110 England Caps across a 15-year career.
Serena Guthrie was a member of the Vitality Roses for almost the entirety of her professional netball career after making her debut for her country against Malawi in 2008, at only 18 years old. She experienced all that international netball has to offer, having played at three Vitality Netball World Cups (2011, 2015 and 2019) and two Commonwealth Games (2014 and 2018).
During the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, Serena took up gardening which helped her take her “mental health to the next level.” (Glorious, 2021). Move over Alan Titchmarsh!
In 2022, Serena announced her retirement from playing netball after falling pregnant with her first child. After her daughter was born, she was appointed Performance Lead for Jersey Netball and launched Youth Nets, a ten-week project helping young people get into netball.
Most recently, she was then enlisted in The Jersey Sport Hall of Fame for her dedication to netball and her incredible sporting success.
Away from netball, Serena is a dedicated mum, coffee and music lover.
