With over twenty years experience in News and Current Affairs, Julie MacDonald is a News Anchor and Documentary Presenter for the Emmy award winning International News Channel Al Jazeera. As part of the original launch team, Julie has been at the helm both in Doha and London since 2006.

Combining years of experience at the sharp end with warmth and authority, her down-to-earth style has won her rave reviews as a presenter covering the world’s biggest stories for some of our best-loved TV channels, including Sky News, BBC, ITV and Five News.

Julie is a breaking news specialist, providing clarity, credibility and commentary as events unfold.

A perceptive and engaging interviewer, she brings out the best in guests and thrives on debate and discussions. Julie is also an experienced correspondent and an acclaimed documentary maker, winning plaudits for “Scotland the Brave?”, her unique examination of the Scottish referendum.

An experienced Moderator, Event Host and Keynote Speaker, Julie is in demand to create and present corporate videos and has been a host and facilitator at a huge range of conferences, awards ceremonies, workshops and other events. Clients have included Astrazeneca, Merck, Takeda, APSE, EQT, RBS, EFORT and Costain. Her public speaking specialities include Healthcare and the Pharmaceutical Industry, Innovation, Supercharging Business through Storytelling, International affairs and Working Motherhood – the subject of a book she has authored.  She has also presented a healthcare podcast series for the BBC.

As an experienced journalist creating powerful content in the science and medical field, Julie presents a number of podcasts for world leading science companies including Unmute MS which explores and showcases ground breaking research in Multiple Sclerosis. She also fronts Innovation Rheum, a podcast sharing innovation in Rheumatology. Julie is proud to support The European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFORT) and is a regular presenter of data updates for a leading pharmaceutical oncology brand

As a Mum of two Dyslexic daughters, Julie is passionate about transforming education and the workplace through promoting better understanding of neurodiversity. When she’s not on air covering world events Julie runs a successful Corporate Film & Communications Company and is the Founder of The Awesome Au Pair – a digital support community for Host Families and Au Pairs.
