About Julian Birkinshaw
Author of 12 business books including his latest Becoming a Better Boss – Why good Management is so Difficult, Julian is the co-founder of the Management Innovation Lab where he works with pioneering companies to create genuine management innovation.
Placing the blame for the latest economic crisis on a fundamental failure of management , Julian connects with his audience by taking a real world approach – often tackling management issues from the perspective of employees in real organisations and the choices they have to make every day.
Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the London Business School he is also Academic Director of the Deloitte Institute. His main area of expertise is in the strategy and organisation of large corporations, and specifically such issues as innovation, corporate entrepreneurship, strategic agility and headquarters-subsidiary relationships.
He is a Fellow of: the British Academy, the Academy of Social Sciences, the Advanced Institute of Management Research (UK), and the Academy of International Business. He has written 12 books, over 80 articles in leading academic journals and is regularly quoted in international media outlets including CNN, the BBC, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal and The Times.
He speaks at business conferences in the UK, Europe, North America and Australia.
