Biography
Julia Streets — Founder & CEO, Advisor, Investor, Executive Coach
Julia’s career has taken her to the heady heights of serving on the executive committee of the technology business of the New York Stock Exchange, as well as holding a senior executive seat at the global brokerage firm, Instinet — all by the age of 35.
Today, she is the Founder & CEO of Streets Consulting, a business she launched 17 years ago. She and her team advise hundreds of financial services and technology startups, scaleups, global organisations, and industry associations around the world.
Along the way, she became a sell-out stand-up comedian, performing on some of the most prestigious stages including the Edinburgh Fringe and the iconic Comedy Store. Naturally, this also makes her a dynamic and engaging speaker.
Blending industry insights with stage energy, Julia is flown around the world to speak, interview senior leaders on some of the world’s biggest stages (think The O2 and the Royal Albert Hall), and is regularly called upon to curate and chair summits and private discussions. She has hosted several shows including City AM’s Impact AM Show, Metaverse: What Matters, The Energy Podcast, This Age, and DiverCity Podcast, rated one of the world’s most influential DE&I podcasts, with listeners in 50+ countries. Known for her energy, she is frequently booked and rebooked to host gala awards dinners and MC leading industry conferences.
Julia is also a senior executive and life transformation coach, helping leaders achieve happiness, fulfilment in their roles, and sustainable success. For her, it’s all about being fit for the journey of change and in addition to investing with early stage firms, she helps the leadership teams through their growth trajectories as they raise capital, expand their organisations and achieve their ambitions.
In her own life, she has burned out, come out, and earned numerous accolades for her work. Brummell Magazine has listed her three times (a rare honour) as one of their 30 Women on Boards, Women of Influence, and Women Entrepreneurs. She has been recognised as a Global Diversity Champion in the Global Diversity List, frequently celebrated as a changemaker and trailblazer, and was recently named one of 30 Fintech Female Founders by Female Techpreneur.
She is a member of the Power Women Network, a Fellow of the British American Project, and a long-time supporter of the charity Street Child, having served on its board for many years.
Julia never delivers the same speech twice. She takes the time to understand where she can add the most value, always offering a blend of personal experience, industry insight, frameworks for growth, and practical takeaways. She leaves audiences inspired, informed, and wanting more.
When we talk about being bold, Julia epitomises it — living by David Lloyd George’s quote: “Never be afraid to take a big step when one is needed. You cannot cross a chasm in small steps.” From the executive committee of NYSE Euronext to stand-up comedy. From corporate boardrooms to founding her own business. From blending two worlds to propel her career to a new level, to sharing that wisdom through C-suite and rising executive coaching.
And every year, she launches something new. Metaverse: What Matters. This Age — a platform dedicated to ripping up the rule book for women over 50. And this year, an online course teaching essential soft skills.
