My journey in football has not only been full of surprises but has also given me some amazing experiences, valuable transferable skills and humorous moments, such as marriage proposals from top players to awkward changing room situations, then there are moments that make it all worthwhile, like when a player shakes your hand at the end and says, ‘Fair play, ref. You called it right.’ I’d love to share with you some of the behind-the-scenes stories of the role of a woman referee in the world of men’s professional football.

Personal responsibility is the amount of commitment to creating and attaining the goals you set. It also means that you accept complete responsibility for your behaviour, feelings, and decisions in all areas of your life. Being accountable for things in your life will leave you with little room for finger-pointing. So, personal responsibility is about executing your duties with integrity and caring about the results. It’s about owning the results, whether good or bad. It’s about fixing bad results with the same integrity you started with and looking out for those you affect.
