Biography
Craig Venter, Ph.D. is regarded as one of the leading scientists of the 21st century for his numerous, invaluable contributions to genomic research. He decoded the genome of the first free-living organism, a bacterium, as well as fruit fly, mouse, rat, and human genomes, published in Science. Dr. Venter is Founder, Chairman, and CEO of the J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI), a not-for-profit dedicated to genomic research and the exploration of social and ethical issues in genomics. He is also a co-founder of Viridos, Inc. and Human Longevity, Inc. Dr. Venter currently serves on the Scientific Advisory Board at Bluestar Genomics, a company leading the development of non-invasive early cancer detection. With a keen focus on the intersection of technology and biology, Venter’s talks provide a glimpse into the future of healthcare and the possibilities of genetic-driven solutions.
