Biography
Evelyn Glennie’s background
Evelyn has been profoundly deaf since the age of 12, and regularly plays barefoot to feel the music better during concerts. As one of the world’s top international musicians, she plays up to 60 instruments in any given show, including congas, cowbells, cymbals and the marimba, to name just a few.
She was part of the live Opening Ceremony for London 2012 and collaborated with British electronic group Underworld on the soundtrack for the ceremony.
She travels around the world giving performances and discussing the topics over overcoming adversity, achieving the impossible and motivation.
