If we want to understand society, we must rethink the economy. Anders asks, “What comes after digitalization?” and explains why “Queen Capitalism” needs an upgrade — a PATCH. What is needed is a Society of Understanding, in which individuals learn to think independently and with self-determination — freeing themselves from dependence on purely reactive technology.

In times when the boundaries between perceived reality and virtuality are increasingly blurring, one pressing question arises: Where has the human being gone? The real threat does not lie in the polarization of supposed opposites — analog vs. digital — but in how we perceive the world. In a virtual world, the perception of our own perception is just as real as in the so-called physical world.

Since Plato’s reflections on existence, the nature of reality has been a source of fascination. From Descartes’ skepticism to Dennett’s illusionism, groundbreaking ideas have shaped our worldview. With exponential technologies, a new possibility comes into focus: Are we living in a simulation? The rise of exponential technologies has brought the idea of simulating the universe with quantum computing to the forefront of this debate. Could our reality be part of a chain of simulations?
